ARTIST STATEMENT
I often used the element Water throughout one of my last series of painting. Water can be a metaphor for many of our behavior: can be violent, can be rough and troubled, can be placid and assuring.
In Greek mythology, Nereids are nymphs of the sea. One of them represent the most transparent, light and whitey aspect of the sea, the sea foam: her name is Galatea.
In this HPM, through splashes and transparent brush strokes, I played with water, revealing and reinforcing the lightness of the painting underneath.
