José Luis Guerrero was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México.
He studied advertising at the school of visual arts in the university of Guadalajara. His talent and vocation for art helped him find his way as a graphic designer and creative director for several agencies in Guadalajara and Mexico City.
José Luis Guerrero pieces can be defined as collages, mixtures of artworks from various eras that are intervened by the artist himself. Quoting José:
"by doing this, they can have a very different meaning from the original one; sometimes they even symbolize an opposite sense. "
Giving a new meaning to these classic pieces by merging mixed techniques has become part of this unique style.
