Silvia Pelissero, a young painter best known as Agnes Cecile, was born in Rome, Italy. After attending a fine arts high school, she developed her craft on her own, pushing the boundaries of her watercolour paintings and developing a forward-looking artistic philosophy that embraces the idea that “new is good.” Considering the unbelievably creative and eye-catching works she produces, it is easy to agree that “new” is indeed very “good.”
This philosophy has informed the works of Agnes Cecile since she first published her art online under her now-well-known pseudonym at age 15.
The artist quickly found success posting her work on social media where art fans were captivated not only by her finished images, but also by her time-lapse “speed painting” videos.
Audiences were drawn into her world while observing, stroke by stroke, the vivid details of her artistic process. Coupled with several solo exhibitions in her home city of Rome, this internet attention created a global audience for her art.
Most recently, she has traveled extensively while working on projects and collaborations and finding inspiration in new corners of the world. She has also conducted art workshops in Spain and Italy.
As a result of her lifelong development as a watercolour painter and her willingness to push artistic boundaries, Agnes Cecile has created her own signature style. Using raw human expression, elegant natural detail and dynamic color, she creates something startling and new every time her brush hits the canvas to create another work of art.
